Black, Grace Ann (Gilbert) – With great sadness, the family of Grace Ann Black of Hoyt NB announce the sudden passing of their cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and soon to be great grandmother, Grace Ann Black of Hoyt NB, at the  Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on May 17, 2015.  Born in Grand Forks British Columbia on November 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Jones and Roderick Gilbert.  Grace will be dearly missed by her husband Joe to whom she was married to for 54 years. She worked at various positions over the years that included administrated assistant, newspaper carrier territory manager, conveyance driver for school children, home care support worker and the family business, Douglas Valley Christmas Tree U-Pick.

She had many hobbies including painting, gardening, photography, wreath making, upholstering, woodworking and volunteering for numerous organizations.  She was an active member of TOPS (Co-Leader, Secretary) for many decades and enjoyed being part of the Senior Citizens group and  Antique Car Club. Her gift in helping others was a gift to all who knew her. Grace always found time to talk to everyone around her and told wonderful stories about the adventures in everyday life.

Besides her husband Joe, Grace is survived by her children, Jo Ellen Sanford, Lincoln, NB,  Karen MacDonald (Bill), Dauphin, MB, Brian Black (Catherine), Comox, BC, along with sister June Schreiber, brother Roger Gilbert (Carol),  grand-children, Serena (Robbie), Andrew, Kevin, Steven, Brian, Jason, Matthew, Joel and several nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Grace is pre-deceased by her son- in-law Mark Sanford and a brother –in-law Fred Schreibner.

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville NB on Thursday May 21, 2015 for visitations between 2-4 and 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home on Friday May 22, 2015 at 11am with Rev. Bob Johnston officiating. Interment will be at the Patterson United Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, ca-r-ma (cat rescue maritimes) or a charity of your choice.
