Glendine Faye (Milton) Snider 1939-2017

Glendine Faye (Milton) Snider, 76, of Hillsborough went to be Lord and Savior on January 19th,2017 at the Forest Dale Home with her family by her side.

Glendine was born in Edgett’s Landing on September 13th, 1939, the daughter of the late Enoch and Frances (Garland) Milton.

Glendine started working in the service industry at Zellers and last worked at the Hillsborough Irving for many years.  She was known for her great customer service and generosity.  She was a faithful and active member of the Valley Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was also a leader of Pioneer Girls for many years.  Glendine had a love for dolls and if you ever went to her house she would be glad to show you her Doll Collection.  She enjoyed going to yard sales and finding special treasures to take home. Glendine and Bernard spent a lot of time travelling to antique car shows all over the Maritimes and parts of the US.  It was funny how their trips would sometimes coincide with flea markets or doll shows.   Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, they were her pride and joy. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they will share all their memories and her legacy of love that she has left with the new great-grandson, due in March. Her kind heart and gentle smile will never be forgotten. “See the new life I am beginning and not the one I have ended”.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Bernard Snider;  daughters Shelley Nelson (Hugh) of Hopewell Cape, Karen Crowe (Ernie) of Amherst, and Carol Steeves (Colin) of Dawson Settlement;  treasured grandchildren, Liane (Shawn), Courtney (Neil), Keith, Kevin, Matthew (Michelle), Denise, and Melanie;  precious great grandchildren Natalie, Charlotte, and Casey; sister Judy Steeves of Riverview; sister-in-law Peggy LeBlanc of Hillsborough.  She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, in-laws (The Snider Family) and all her extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Darrell Milton, and Vaughan Milton (Sylvia); sister Ferne Nelson (Russell); brother-in-law Ivan Steeves.

She will be resting at Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Friday  from 7-9pm.  The funeral service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at 2:00pm.  Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments.  Internment will be at the Grey’s Island Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to the Forest Dale Home or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to Catherine Steeves, Cheryl Nelson and Jessica Nelson who helped care for Glendine while she was at her home and to the staff of Forest Dale Home, you all took such great care of Glendine.   We feel blessed to have had such a great support system of caring people.  All the kindness shown to Bernard and the family will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2  734-2780
