Daniel McCaskill 1939 – 2015
Obituary of Daniel McCaskill Dan was born in Saint John on August 4, 1939, he was the son of the late James Donald McCaskill and Cecile Royer (Berrigan)McCaskill. Dan retired after having worked as a machinist for Lepreau. He also was the Shop Steward and the President of Union #37. He enjoyed being out on the water in his fishing boat. The bigger the catch, the bigger the smile. Dan will continue to live on in the hearts of his beloved wife Ellen, his children: Blake Baisley of Quispamsis, Angela Peck and her husband Jason and Krystal McCaskill all of Saint John; his step-children: Angela Jesso and her husband Chris Penny of Musquash, Joe Jesso of Lepreau and Suellen Dupuis of Saint John; his grandchildren: Jason (Lisa Hunter), Corey, Megan and Mandi Baisley all of Quispamsis, and Joshua Dupuis of Alberta and Hannah Dupuis of Musquash; two great grandchildren: Ava Lynn and Aubrey; his brothers: Ray and his wife Cathie of Quispamsis and Kevin of Saint John; his sisters: Barbara Morrison and her husband Jim of Quispamsis, Claudette “Punkie” McCaskill of Saint John, Millie Mitchell of Saint John and his chosen sister Kathy Vautour and her husband Kevin of Saint John as well as by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Mr. Daniel Gordon McCaskill of Smith Creek passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 28th, 2015 at the age of 76. He is predeceased by his brother Ralph (Butch) McCaskill passed away in 2012. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held Sunday, November 1st from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 am. Dan was a member of NBAAC Passamaquoddy Region, and enjoyed his Mustang and the hobby.
