2013 NBAAC Jamboree

August 2, 3, & 4, 2013

Woodstock, NB

The Upper Valley Region of the NBAAC is looking forward to holding the 15th Annual Provincial Jamboree in the Woodstock area. Our theme will be “Red Neck Hoedown”.

hoedown1Woodstock is the oldest town in the province of New Brunswick and is centered in the middle of the St. John River Valley. There are numerous places to visit in the area from the Old County Court House to the Famous Connell House. If you are a fan of historic properties, there are walking tours around the downtown area. Woodstock is an education and farming community that is bordered by many smaller communities.

Registration will take place at the Elks Club, which is accessible from either Connell or Water Street. A Meet & Greet will take place at that same location later that evening.

On Saturday breakfast will be served at the Elks Club and tours will be offered to various locations. Since Saturday is the last day of Old Home Week, there will be a smash-up derby (at your cost) in the afternoon and fireworks at 10:30 that evening. Supper will be served at the Elks Club with a dance following.

Sunday morning breakfast will be served at the Elks Club. For those that wish to go to church, a list of churches and times will be provided. In the afternoon (1:30-4:30) with Mother Nature’s co-operation we will hold a car show. Prizes will be awarded. Supper will be at the Elks Club. Sunday night’s entertainment will feature a talent show. Anyone wishing to join in with a skit or any talent is more than welcome. Please let us know ahead of time if you wish to participate.

Since this Jamboree is happening at the same time as Old Home Week in Woodstock, it would be advisable to lock down your accommodations as early as you can. There is also a Canadian Archery Shoot being held during the same weekend with at least 500 people expected to attend.

Dry camping has been arranged free of charge in the center of the town within walking distance of the Elks Club, where all the inside activities are being held. Advance notice of dry camping is required.
